Ara is a bulky trend yarn spun from 100% Virgin Wool. It is a slubbed yarn, meaning it's roughly spun to include thick and thin spots throughout. This creates an exciting texture and appearance to items made with Ara. Uneven knitting tension will not show since the yarn itself is uneven. Ara knits up quickly on size 10½ (6.5 mm) – 11 (8 mm) needles. It's possible to make a sweater in only one week, and who hasn't dreamed of finishing so quickly? The inspired painted colors of Ara create a delightful colorplay, taking you on an exciting knitting adventure each time you knit with Ara. "Painted colors" refers to a multi-colored yarn where the colors are pained on in a variety of color shadings. One of Ara's color combinations is made up of many different bright colors and black painted onto the same yarn, mimicking the appearance of a parrot and giving Ara its name. We offer Ara in 7 wonderful shades, each with its own distinct color theme. Ara should be hand washed in cold water using a mild or neutral pH detergent. To prevent colors from bleeding, make sure the soap is completely dissolved in the water before placing your garment into the water. Do not soak garments made of Ara and never twist or wring. Use plenty of clean water to rinse. Lay the garment flat to dry. If necessary, lay garment flat and cover with a towel to iron. Store folded away from strong light and high humidity. We recommend a gauge for Ara of 13 stitches and 21 rows per 4" (10 cm). If you knit looser than the recommended gauge, try needles one size smaller. Likewise, if you knit more tightly than the recommended gauge, try needles one size larger. Ara is available in 1¾ oz (50 gram) balls. Each ball contains approximately 55 yards (50 meters).  http://www.dale.no/
